Frost Crown by Punter Games / Mechanics guide
FROST CROWN
MECHANICS.
How the Hammer, Pillar and Crown sequence works in Frost Crown by Punter Games, with a step-by-step rules example.
WHAT IS AN ICE PILLAR?
An Ice Pillar covers cells on a reel with frozen Wilds. Naturally appearing Pillars have a height of one to three cells and start with a ×2 multiplier. The reel has five cells, so an uncrowned Pillar may still have room to grow.
What a Hammer does depends on whether the reel already has a Pillar:
- Empty reel: the Hammer creates a new one-cell Pillar at ×2.
- Existing Pillar: the Hammer doubles the Pillar’s multiplier before growing it.
Growth is normally one cell in Normal or Regular play, and can reach two cells in Super play. Bonus symbols can block growth. Doubling and growing are separate parts of the hit; seeing the multiplier rise does not by itself mean the Pillar has reached full height.
WHEN DOES A PILLAR EARN A CROWN?
A Hammer that grows an uncrowned Pillar to all five reel cells causes a Coronation. The Pillar earns a Crown and an additional multiplier doubling. Each Pillar can be crowned once.
One unblocked hit, step by step
Take an uncrowned, four-cell Pillar at ×4 in Normal or Regular play. A Hammer first doubles ×4 to ×8. If growth is unblocked, the Pillar grows to five cells. The Crown then doubles ×8 to ×16.
That is an example of the rule sequence, not an example of a payout. Whether a Pillar multiplier contributes to a win depends on the winning payline.
What does a Royal Echo do?
The Coronation sends one Royal Echo to another reel. An Echo acts as a Hammer hit, so it can create a Pillar or double and grow an existing one. If that hit causes another Coronation, the sequence can continue.

HOW DO PILLAR MULTIPLIERS APPLY?
A Pillar multiplier applies only when a counted winning payline combination uses that Pillar’s frozen Wild cell. A high multiplier elsewhere on the board does not automatically affect every line.
When several Pillar multipliers participate in the same winning combination, they add together. For example, contributing Pillars at ×4 and ×8 add to ×12; they do not multiply together to ×32. This arithmetic explains the rule, rather than predicting a result or return.
WHAT CHANGES IN FREE SPINS?
Bonus symbols determine the entry feature. Each listed feature starts with eight spins:
| Bonus symbols | Feature | Initial spins |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Regular Free Spins | 8 |
| 4 | Super Free Spins | 8 |
| 5 | Boosted Super Free Spins | 8 |
Regular uncrowned Pillars have two life charges, refreshed by Hammer hits. Super Pillars persist and their growth can reach two cells per hit. Crowned Pillars persist through the current Regular or Super feature.
Bonus symbols within the feature can award extra spins, up to five extra per spin. Read the current in-game rules for the complete behavior of the selected mode.
